BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health.

This means the number of active cases in New Zealand remains at 22. All active cases are those who have recently returned from overseas and are in managed isolation facilities. There have been no cases of community transmission, said a ministry statement.

BEIJING -- Major mail and express delivery companies in Beijing have completed nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 on their employees as planned and reported negative results on all samples tested, official data showed.

By the end of Sunday, 104,807 people in the capital's postal sector have tested negative for COVID-19, said the State Post Bureau (SPB).

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyzstan announced on Tuesday 279 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total to 5,296.

Of the new cases, two are imported, and the rest 277 are contacts of confirmed patients, said Deputy Health Minister Mademin Karataev at a daily news briefing, adding that 47 of the new infections are medical workers, which raised the total number of contracted medical employees to 830.

SEOUL -- South Korea's economy struggled with the COVID-19 shock in the first half of this year, but the economy was expected to recover in the second half thanks to fiscal stimulus packages and accommodative monetary policy.

The seasonally-adjusted production in all industries, which exclude agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors, declined 1.2 percent in May from a month earlier, Statistics Korea data showed Tuesday.
