WELLINGTON, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand reported eight new cases of COVID-19 in managed isolation facilities in two days, said the Ministry of Health in a statement on Sunday.
The ministry was also investigating a positive test result in a person who had departed from a managed isolation and quarantine facility, said the ministry.
The last media statement by the ministry was on Friday.
The total number of active cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand is 79 and the total number of confirmed cases reached 1,927, said the ministry.
The total number of tests processed by New Zealand laboratories to date was 1,487,234.
